Sayonara...

Insya-Allah, I will hand over the keys to my home for more than 4 years to my housemate tonight. Although it's my third rented house (both 1st and 2nd were during my university days), e-4-18 is my longest and the one with the most memorable things. And Mus is also my longest housemate, since November 2002 until today. Thanks, Mus... for being such a good housemate and keep up with me through ups and downs of my life.

Special thanks to my previous housemates too, namely, Ijan; Radzi & Usop. And not forgetting, unofficial housemates too. You guys have brought joys and colours to my life and I really appreciate it. Really really appreciate it.

Guys... minta maaf atas segala salah silap, baik kelakuan mahupun percakapan serta minta halalkan makan dan minum. If I owe you guys anything, be it money or non-monetary thingy, kindly alert me so that I could repay you all my debts, if any.

E-4-18... you will always in my heart.

p/s: Mus, don't worry... I will throw away all unwanted things like magazines, decorative items and return you the room as clean as possible.

Jari-jariku sakit semua...

What a perfect song to illustrate my Sunday morning. I went to my Graha Residen for a quick spot check. You know what... my kitchen cabinet is still not ready. Gempar!!!

"Sorry, boss. Itu cermin sudah pecah."
"So... change a new one lah."
"Esok pagi."
"Apasal esok? Buat hari inilah. Petang ini saya mahu masuk!"
"Sekarang cermin biasa saja yang saya ada. Mahu kasi yang baik sikit."
"Make sure you give me yang baik punya."

But that not what made my fingers aching. I spent the whole morning, scrubbing the flloors of all three bedrooms and two bathrooms. And the balcony too, which was the hardest one! Tapi seronok betul dapat main air. Remind me of old days, where my sisters and I will flooded the bathroom and we "bergelimpangan", mengepak-ngepak macam dugong kegirangan dapat air di musim kemaruk. Hehehe...

Oh yeah... before I forgot, kindly be informed that Neta is my electrician. Thank you very much to Nazri for introducing me to him. Very friendly, flexible and punctual too. And he charges is very reasonable. He promised to finish everything by today.

My furtunites will be arriving on Thursday. Hmmm... sempat ke?

I'm still looking for suitable curtains. Help me, please...

Bagaikan air yang mengalir...

I went to Ampang once again to look around for suitable furnitures for my Graha Residen. Before that, I stopped for a while @Cempaka Furniture so that I don't miss anything good around my area.

At the end of the day, I bought two bedroom sets and a dining set. And that cost me around RM3,500. And without mattresses pulak tu. Mak ai...!

So, I need to look around again for TV cabinet and two-seater. And also tilam. Any tips, guys? Reasonable one, please...

Insya-Allah, will shop for LCD TV and DVD micro hifi either on Friday or Saturday. Till then... have a productive week!

Window shopping for furnitures

I went to a couple of furniture shops yesterday with Zack to get some ideas for Graha Residen. As what I've told you guys earlier, I don't want too many things in my small (read: cozy lah...) apartment. I envision something like this...

Dining area
- a small dining table with 4 comfy chairs. Most probably, dark-coloured wood.

Living hall
- a two-seater (totally agree with Hazry, a washable one!)
- a japanese coffee table (dark-coloured)
- a simple tv cabinet (would love to have white one. if not, dark-coloured will do)
- a LCD tv
- a DVD micro hife

Master bedroom
- a Queen-size bed with comfy mattress
- a 4-door wardrobe
- a side table (maybe two)
- dressing table (not sure... but definitely a big, big mirror!)

2nd bedroom
similar to Master bedroom, but instead of a 4-door, maybe a 2-door wardrobe (to save space)

Reading room
a working table (maybe I just use the heavy table that I bought from my employer)
a sofa bed
a book rack

I think I will buy some form Cavenzi, some from IKEA. I'm still looking around for a more trendy and cheaper 2-seater and sofa bed. Any suggestions, guys...

Curi2 Ambil Gambar

Well, another pictures to be shared with all of you, which I took this morning. Aiyo... boleh siap ke, 15 haribulan? Hmmm...

Main door with iron grill
Concrete for Kitchen Cabinet
The twin sinks
Sangkar Besi I
Sangkar Besi II
And last but not least, a glimpse of the sauna. I really can't wait to use it to burn those unwanted fat. Sorry guys, don't think I've faith in Xenical. Hehehe.

LCD?

I don't have a TV. That's a fact. The one that you guys saw in the living room of my rented house is belonged to my ex-housemate. Just a matter of time, before he will stop by to collect his TV back.

Do I really need one. Yes, definitely. What TV to buy? How big? Which brand? Where to buy?

Well, I'm thinking of buying a LCD TV. Why? Because it's hot, and I guess as hot as Plasma TV. And please, don't ask me the difference between these two because I really don't know. Well, I would love to believe that I used to know based on a short lecture given by housemate, Mus. But I don't remember it anyway. Mus, care to re-explain it to me?

Does size really matter? Hmmm... maybe and since the size of my future-to-be LCD TV is all on depends on my pocket size, I have a feeling that I'm only can afford size 32", the max!

And this is a tricky question, since I've a couple of pleasant experiences using products of a couple of brand, when it comes to electrical appliances. Sony? "Maybe". Philips? Another "maybe". The one that I bought for my parents, if I'm not mistaken, made by Toshiba. But I also read good reviews on Sharp and Samsung. Hmmm... can I not to answer this question? Please...

I've asked around and I've shortlisted a few stores, namely, Best Denki, SenQ and Courts.

So, guys... you can wait and see. Ada rezeki, ada. Betul tak?

Me vs. Management Company

I received a phone call this afternoon from a staff of the management company appointed by the developer to manage the Astaka Heights.

"Encik kena bayar RM100 dan letak deposit sebanyak RM1000 sebelum membuat apa-apa ubah suai rumah".
"RM100? What for, if I may ask?"
"Oh... processing fee".
"What processing fee? What it covers? I just installed the iron grills".
"Yalah... untuk bersihkan kekotoran nanti".
"No, you don't. That will be taken care by my contractor. I don't think you guys will clean it up".
"Itu peraturannya, Encik. Tetapi kalau Encik tidak berpuas hati, Encik boleh hadir ke pejabat kami dan berbincang dengan bos saya".
"Okey, terima kasih".

Oh, please lah... I'm not stupid. I don't pay for nothing. If you want my money, please offer me something in exchange. Don't you dare dreaming of easy money from me. I DO NOT tolerate such antic! Period.

Murah... Murah... Murah!

I went to Bandar Bukit Puchong with my friends to shop lamps and ceiling fans for my apartment. Thanks to Nazri for introducing me with this shop. Betul, memang murah dan barangan tampak bergaya dan berkualiti. Actually, Nizam also informed me about this shop in one of his emails, sharing tips with me, useful tips, especially on what to do if you were slapped with hundreds, if not thousands of ringgit on interest for late payments (Argggh... I still can't get over with the issue).

I brought with me, another two friends of mine, namely, Jue & Ana. They too, are shopping around for ideas (and products, of course) for their apartments in Jalan Klang Lama.

I bought, not much, just four units of ceiling fans and 10 units of lamps. The shop also offers assistance to fix the lamps and fans for you at a reasonable cost (well, I'm not sure how reasonable it is but they charge RM8 for each lamp and RM15 for each fan). Anyhow, so sweet of Nazri to arrange for me an assistance from his Indian friend to install them at more reasonable rates: RM7 for each lamp and RM10 for each fan. Once again, thank you Nazri.

I really can't wait to see these things fit in my apartment. Nervous lah!
