Doa Yang Hiba

Dari kejauhan ku dapat khabar itu
sedih, geram dan bersalah
meronta-ronta liar
sebelum ditawan redha.

Dari kejauhan ku panjatkan doa
kau teman yang setia lagi benar
cekalmu santak ke Low's Peak
murnimu santak ke lubuk hati
beberapa kerat yang mengenali.

Ku yakini
dirimu Dia sangat sayangi
lebih dari kami di sini
cuma satu harapan ini
moga diizinkan kita bersahabat lagi

Aamin.

Guest of the Year 2007

2007 is everything but boring. And it is a year of blessing for me. Alhamdulillah, I'm so thankful to Allah for so many rezeki that I've received this year. Here I am, sitting in front of my laptop, in my cozy room in the university hall, doing my final post for the year. Like what I've said earlier, this time it's about picking the first winner for graha residenKu's Guest of the Year.

There are eight individuals and one couple who undeniably have given so much colours to my life. And each and everyone of them impacted me in their unique ways. Here are a brief description about all the finalists before I reveal our winner.

Ajoi
The newest kid among all "contestants", he is more than a tenant to me. When a friend of mine first brought him to Graha Residen, I was surprised to see him because his face really, really reminds me of a long lost friend of mine. This sincere and good-natured engineer made me one of the best days in 2007 by surprising me with the latest CD of Anuar Zain. Thank you very much for taking a good care of my Graha Residen. Hopefully, both of you don't find me a bad landlord either.

Faizal
He is such a dear and loyal friend. I'm so happy to be one of the earliest persons (if I'm not mistaken, second after his beloved mother) to know about his plan to tie the knot. Thank you very much for introducing me to the indescribable experience of topping the Bukit Tabuh (yes KLnites, you really have a cool place for two or three hours of fat burning activity!) as well as assisting me with my finance affairs. In addition, Faizal is a HBH excellence award winner (a.k.a. akHBH winner).

Mus
Another akHBH winner, he was my dormmate, classmate and housemate. I would love to believe that I've beat him in everything, but unfortunately it is far from true. He is still a better writer than me by... miles. And he's funnier than me too. Other than that, I think... hehehe.

My parents
I guess this year I cried more than my father, and I didn't have a chance to see my mother cries. I tell you, you can consider yourself super lucky if you see one. My parents, especially my beloved mother is my source of strength and happiness. Alhamdulillah, I'm so lucky to still have these wonderful two in my life. And they've never, ever spoilt any of my days with THE question, which most of my single friends have trouble to answer. [Note: my mother is one of the akHBH's Hall of Fame members a.k.a. Warga Gemilang and my father is also an akHBH winner.]

Noris
I really admire his courage in pursuing betterment of himself, specifically betterment in career and knowledge. He surprised me with his thoughtful greeting cards, in fact I just received his New Year card a few days ago. One thing (out of a couple of things) that I learned from him is always thankful and grateful to still have my beloved parents to be around, overseeing my journey in this life. I totally agree with him, no money can buy the enjoy to see happiness in our parents' sparkling eyes.

Reena
She appeared on tamu arenaKu in November 2007 with so much sincerity and passion. Although I've only know her less than a year, but her presence in my life is so noticeable. A strong believer in accepting people as they are, she taught me a valuable lesson i.e. the importance of not being judgemental.

Yusof
Similar to Mus, he too was my classmate and housemate. Although we're hardly in touch, he still impress me with his financial management and strategic planning skills.

Zack
Another engineer by profession, he too is a good natured person who value his friendship dearly. There was one time, he even braved the heavy rain from Rawang to Pandan Indah to comfort a friend of us who was troubled emotionally. But, he still owes me swimming lessons.

Zetty
One of the most attractive ladies I ever met in my life. Only God knows how many tests she has gone through so far, and I strongly believe, she is a survivor herself. We have many things in common but yet we're totally different. From what I observed, she "enjoyed" all her ups and downs in life and learn from each one of them. I think that's her secret in being so attractive and inspiring. She is also an akHBH winning friend.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'm proudly to announce, with "enter-frame" appearances totalling t0 14 posts, the first winner of graha residenKu's Guest of the Year is... ( I hope you guys can hear the drum rolling)

Congratulations to Mus, and of course to other finalists. And a happy new year to all citizens of the world.

p/s: Besides Reena, other finalists who have appeared on tamu arenaKu are Mus, Zetty and Yusof.

Inaugural of graha residenKu's Guest of the Year (GotY)

I used to close a year with a posting to summarise my life in the said year, including the highlights such as achievements, failures, sweet and sad memories as well as the farewell of the beloved ones. I remember doing it for 4 years with the last one was in 2005.

But this time around, I would like to do it differently. Instead of writing about me, myself and I which based on previous experiences could go for four or five pages, I'm going to honour an individual/a thing who appeared (or should I say featured?) in my postings the most. The observation period is from my first post on 14 April 2007 until my posting before this one.

In total, there are more than 40 individuals, one couple and 4 non-living things are eligible based on a single requirement i.e. to be mentioned or referred at least twice during the period of observation, which in total have 112 posts.

I'm proud to announce that there are nine finalists, vying for the first title of graha residenKu's Guest of the Year 2007 (GotY). Each finalist has, at least, appeared in six posts! The result will be announced in my final post for 2007, tentatively on the New Year eve.

Ladies and gentlemen, the finalists for graha residenKu's Guest of the Year (GotY), in alphabetical order, are as follows:
  • Ajoi
  • Faizal
  • Mus
  • My parents
  • Noris
  • Reena
  • Yusof
  • Zack
  • Zetty

Messengers of God

The pictures that I'm going to share with you today were taken from one of the churches in Frankfurt am Main.

Let me put the record straight that I totally believe what is mentioned in the Quran and I do believe that the same fact was also in the other kitabs (books of God) i.e. Isa/Jesus (peace be upon him) is a messenger of Allah, similar to other prophets, including Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Musa/Moses (peace be upon him).

And I think this is where my belief is totally different from my Christian friends. I don't believe that Isa/Jesus (peace be upon him) died on the cross because I find it a dicredit to his prophethood. In fact, according to the Bible of Barnabas: "The face of Yehuda who led the soldiers to arrest Christ was transfigured into that of Christ who had been rescued by the Angels through the window to the third Heaven." And this is also confirmed in the Quran. Click here if you want to learn more about this.
