Congratulation Zul & Malisa

I hope it's still not to late to congratulate on the arrival of their third son. Tahniah. Well, I'm very bad with name! I totally forgot the boy's name.

And only after a month, I had the chance to visit the baby and the mother, although I passed by Bangi exit almost every weekend from my weekly visit to my parents in Melaka.

Hopefully, the boy will become a good practising Muslim that make their parents and ummah proud.

To Zul and Malisa, I guess you guys need to try harder. Usaha tangga kejayaan ;)

Al-fatihah Buat Arwah Puan Fatimah Daud

I've just received an SMS from my dear friend, Mus to inform that his beloved mother has passed away peacefully at 8.45pm.

The text came in as I was driving to meet friends for dinner. I read the message at the traffic light, opposite Dahlia Apartment in Pandan Indah and my hands started to shake since then. My heart was pumping fast, but I was not sure whether it was due to the shocking news or the guilt. Oh, my... Faizal and I were already planning to visit her this weekend, but I guess it's time for she to meet her Creator.

I still remember the first time I met Puan Fatimah Daud, away back in 1993 when she came to Sekolah Menengah Sains Muar with her youngest son with lavish food for her eldest son. Lucky me and Che Tong, we were invited to enjoy the feast, and the thing that I still remember until today is the generous fried chicken!

If I'm not mistaken, we met again twice since then. The second one when I went to Kulai to attend her daughter's wedding and the last one was very brief, in 2006, when she came to Kuala Lumpur for a family shortbreak.

I know little much about her, but one thing that the two of us have in common is we are big fans of Ogy Ahmad Daud! But she loved soap operas, which is a big NO to me. [Pelik kan, suka Ogy tetapi tak suka soap opera.]

I know how close Mus is to her mother and I cannot imagine the pain that he's currently enduring for this big loss. Without doubt, she will be greatly missed by her family.

On behalf of myself and my family, I would like to express our heartfelt condolence to Mus and his family for the passing of their beloved mother. Stay strong and say lots of prayers and doas for her. May Allah forgive all her sin, blessed her soul and place her amongst His believers.

Al-fatihah.

Only black-listed people affected by new borrowing guideline

Pendek kata, kalau tak mampu, usah nak kumpul hutang.

KUALA LUMPUR: Only non-bankable borrowers are finding it difficult to obtain loans following the introduction of a new borrowing guideline, said chairman of the Institute of Bankers Malaysia Tan Sri Azman Hashim.

He said people always believed they could secure financing without fully understanding their credit score. The banks, he said, would utilise all their experience and knowledge before loans could be disbursed.

“Banks can't say yes' to all loan applications, otherwise they would lose money, while borrowers who are unable to repay the debt go bankrupt,” Azman said, when asked to comment on the impact of the new lending guideline on consumer loans.

Azman said this at the Financial sector talent enrichment programme graduation ceremony here yesterday.

He said the people could secure financing anytime but they must be bankable or able to repay the debt. “Banks are competing like mad to offer loans at lower rates,” he said. Bernama

Jiwa Taiko

Another film by Osman Ali is coming to cinemas in less than 2 weeks' time. He will be featuring Remy Ishak as "hero" (read: lead actor) for the second time after Cun. And Mislina Mustaffa will be in it too!

Aku mula meminati karya Osman Ali, bila aku menonton filem pendek ketiga beliau iaitu Malaikat Di Jendela.

Osman Ali is one of the few Malaysian filmmakers that I've been following their work. Another one is Uwei Haji Saari. Bila lah agaknya filem Hanyut, yang turut menampilkan Diana Dianelle, akan ditayangkan. Tak sabar-sabar nak tonton.

Anyhow, please block your diary accordingly. Jom kita tengok filem Jiwa Taiko di pawagam nanti!
